Recently, Suzhou University of Science and Technology published an article in Inorg. Chem. "Exploration of CeO2 − CuO Quantum Dots in Situ Grown on Graphene under Hypha Assistance for Highly Efficient Solar-Driven Hydrogen Production (DOI: 10.1021/acs.inorgchem.8b01936). The researchers used the PicoFemto in situ optical-electrical sample rod of Zeryou Technology to characterize the photoelectric properties of the CeO2-CuO quantum dot/graphene heterojunction structure in the transmission electron mirror.

It is well known that the development of photohydrogen generation systems relies on efficient, continuously stable, and low-cost catalysts to store solar energy in chemical bonds. However, the catalysts used earlier tend to be too costly, with high electron-hole recombination rates and poor stability. This article introduces a p-CuO/n-CeO2 heterojunction structure, which is grown on a single layer of graphene with the help of hyphae. Surprisingly, the structure exhibits very good optical properties. The results provide a new feasible scheme for the study of new photocatalytic hydrogen production system.

PicoFemto in-situ optical-electrical sample rod An in-situ photoelectric connected test system was constructed in TEM, and an optical signal was applied to the sample by an external 650 nm laser. At the same time, the photoelectric effect of the sample was studied in situ by using the STM electrical measurement system. By controlling the laser switching time, we also observed the accurate corresponding photocurrent pulse signal. PicoFemto in-situ optical-electrical solution uses sub-nanometer-level manipulated STM probes to accurately construct a photoelectric connected test platform in TEM. This solution can not only study the photoelectric effect, electroluminescent effect and spectral signal of materials in situ in TEM, but also take high-resolution TEM pictures in situ while photoelectric measurement. This scheme is also the only in situ TEM photoelectric integration solution in the world.
